    Self-Introduction

I’m Bruno de Andrade, recently appointed Assistant Professor in Heritage, Values, and Project Decisions for Sustainability with the UNESCO chair of Heritage & Values, Heritage & Architecture section, Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, TU Delft.

I have a Digital Citizen Participation Post-doctoral Research Fellowship (PDRF) with the EU Ireland-Wales funded project CCAT (Coastal Communities Adapting Together) at the School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy, University College Dublin.

I have a Bachelor and Master in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal University of Espírito Santo, Brazil, and a PhD in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

I have been researching heritage values and community mapping with children at the University of Florence, Italy as well as the relationship between design thinking and serious games at the Vienna University of Technology.

In my teaching and research, I’m looking at Heritage, Values and Sustainability through:

    • Sense-making: Learning analogue and digital tools – ranging from different traditional and new technological tools, in particular but not limited to Cultural Heritage Information Systems (CHIS) and Public Participatory GIS (PPGIS) to 3D Modelling and Gamification and Historic/Heritage Games.
    • Decision-making: Learning methods and applying gamification tools to simulate decision-making processes – ranging from different models (passive, transitional and active) and methods of citizens engagement, in particular, but not limited to, Citizens jury, Consensus conference, Deliberative polling, Delphi, Focus group, Participatory assessment, Scenario building, Technology festival and World Café.
